LGBT Viewers Deserve Better has been one of the biggest players in the movement, and has participated in and begun a number of projects aimed at raising awareness of the issues of LGBT representation in the media, including placing several billboards throughout Los Angeles and starting numerous Twitter trends.

LGBT fans also raised over $130K for the Trevor Project, an organization aimed at decreasing incidences of LGBT youth suicide.

Autostraddle, a lesbian and bisexual women’s news website, has written several articles on the Bury Your Gays trope, including an infographic detailing the state of dead lesbian/bisexual women on television, a list of 160 (and counting) dead lesbian/bisexual characters, and a much shorter list of 29 lesbian/bisexual characters who got happy endings.
